A gallery where unknown artists become known

"It all started back in 1998. I was standing in line at the local supermarket when it happened. Waiting, as a lady wrote a check for her groceries, there on the cover of a Weekly World News magazine was Elvis. I thought it was odd, Elvis in the news some 20 years after his death - But that "In the news " thought had stuck with me. I bought the Weekly World News - went home and immediately started to cut the magazine up. Making a picture of Elvis ,"in the news," out of the news. ( It all made sense at the time.) Anyway, four months and about 18 Weekly World News's later I had created a 4 foot x 4 foot Elvis mosaic completely out of newspapers. It was only the beginning."

"The thing I liked most about the Elvis piece was that the medium that I used directly linked to him. Elvis = tabloids, it was all relevant. That thought in mind, I took my copy of Ray Romano's book "Everything and a kite" ( a delightfully funny book - I highly recommend it). Anyway - word by word and sentence by sentence I cut and cut and cut and a month later had a picture of Ray Romano. The next week, after a standup performance he had done, I met him at his hotel where he autographed the picture. That started a whole new ball of wax. I particularly liked the fact that my picture of Ray was made out of HIS book, so the picture is made out of HIS own words."

"From there I have done numerous pictures celebrities, authors and my own works with pop icons and the like. I've done everyone from George Carlin out of his book to Penn & Teller out of playing cards, and the list just keeps growing."
